
Ellie Schroder is a lifelong educator, administrator, business owner, and community leader with more than 27 years of experience in educational management and over four decades of dedicated service to students and families. She has taught grades one through eight, served in school leadership roles, and worked closely with teachers and principals to strengthen schools across Louisiana.
Throughout her career, Ellie has led curriculum development initiatives, supported teacher mentoring, and participated in school improvement planning and student performance efforts, including Title I programs, LEAP testing, and Response to Intervention systems. She has facilitated professional development workshops across multiple parishes and played a key role in implementing reform models such as the Teacher and Student Advancement system. Her leadership has helped schools improve outcomes while maintaining strong community partnerships and safe, effective learning environments.
In addition to her work in education, Ellie is a licensed residential contractor and experienced business owner, having owned and operated construction and small retail businesses for nearly two decades. Her business background brings valuable fiscal discipline, budgeting expertise, and operational management skills, assets she believes are essential to effective educational governance. She has also managed campaign finance operations and bookkeeping, ensuring transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship in public service.
Ellie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Southeastern Louisiana University, a Master’s degree in Elementary Curriculum from Austin Peay State University, and a Master’s plus 30 hours in Educational Administration, along with certification in school supervision and instruction.
A trusted professional and longtime volunteer, Ellie has served on nonprofit boards and supported organizations including Under the Bridge Ministries, Hoops for Kids, Hospice Foundation of the South, and Baskets of Hope. She believes strong schools are built through collaboration, clear communication, and leadership grounded in real-world experience.
On a personal level, Ellie has been married to her husband, John Schroder, for over 40 years. She is the proud mother of an adult daughter and son and a devoted grandmother to four grandchildren who bring her great joy.
